Introduction
This is very traditional Easter meal. Our family call it polnina, because we come from southern part of Eastern Slovakia , but there are also other parts of Slovakia where they call it plnka, plnina or baba.
Ingredients
- ▢ 5 bread rolls cut into cubes
- ▢ 400g smoked pork neck
- ▢ 5 egg yolks
- ▢ 5 egg whites
- ▢ 1 tsp salt
- ▢ 0,5 tsp ground black pepper
- ▢ fresh parsley leaves
- ▢ fresh chive
- ▢ milk (just for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Cook the meat for 30 mins and then let it cool down
- Cut the meat into cubes
- Sprinkle the bread roll cubes with the milk and mix it
- Add chopped parsley and chive
- Whisk egg yolks separately
- Stir egg whites with salt and ground black pepper
- Add the meat
- Mix everything together
- Butter a loaf pan or tube pan
- Put the mixture into the pan
- Preheat the oven to 170℃
- Bake it for 30 minutes
