Easter Polnina

Introduction

This is very traditional Easter meal. Our family call it polnina, because we come from southern part of Eastern Slovakia , but there are also other parts of Slovakia where they call it plnka, plnina or baba.

Ingredients

Easter Polnina
  1. ▢ 5 bread rolls cut into cubes
  2. ▢ 400g smoked pork neck
  3. ▢ 5 egg yolks
  4. ▢ 5 egg whites
  5. ▢ 1 tsp salt
  6. ▢ 0,5 tsp ground black pepper
  7. ▢ fresh parsley leaves
  8. ▢ fresh chive
  9. ▢ milk (just for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Cook the meat for 30 mins and then let it cool down
  2. Cut the meat into cubes
  3. Sprinkle the bread roll cubes with the milk and mix it
  4. Add chopped parsley and chive
  5. Whisk egg yolks separately
  6. Stir egg whites with salt and ground black pepper
  7. Add the meat
  8. Mix everything together



  9. Butter a loaf pan or tube pan
  10. Put the mixture into the pan



  11. Preheat the oven to 170℃
  12. Bake it for 30 minutes
